Iraq In the Arabian Gulf Cup!
The Iraq Football Association has confirmed they will take part in the 24th edition of Arabian Gulf Cup to be hosted by Qatar later this year.
The biennial tournament, which is generally played between eight countries, will see only five teams participate this time around. Along with hosts Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Kuwait and Yemen will fight it out for the Gulf Cup.
According to reports, hosts Qatar had sent an invitation to the seven other members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation but only four of them agreed to take part in the competition.
Oman are the Gulf Cup defending champions of the tournament, which is set to start in December later this year and will run into the next year.
